Miznon On Broadway Is Going Kosher, Marking Eyal Shani’s 2nd Kosher NYC Outpost

Shortly after opening Malka in New York City, his first stateside kosher restaurant, Chef Eyal Shani, is converting a recently opened Miznon location on Broadway in NYC into his second kosher-certified outpost in the USA.

Though it is unclear if this particular Miznon going kosher was planned prior to the opening of Malka, it would be unsurprising. Malka has seen immense success and has been packed nightly since its opening a mere few weeks ago.

Miznon NYC Menu

Though subject to potential change after going kosher, Miznon is known as a spot where one can get fresh stuffed pitas with a variety of meats such as shish kebab, vegetables, and falafel paired with fresh veggies and sauces. They also have hallmark sides, such as their stand-alone baby cauliflower.

Miznon NYC Kosher Certification

Like Malka in NYC, the MIznon on Broadway will be certified by National Kosher Supervision (NKS) under the auspices of Rabbi Aaron D. Mehlman, the rabbi of Congregation Ohav Sholom in Manhattan.

Miznon NYC’s Non-Kosher Sister Locations

It is important to note that Miznon is international, with non-kosher locations spanning across the globe in cities such as Paris, Tel Aviv, London, Singapore, and Vienna. Further, there are also other Miznon locations in New York City that are not kosher certified. For example, the first Miznon location in NYC, located in the Chelsea Market in the Chelsea neighborhood of NYC, is not kosher. This scenario reminds us of when a singular location of Bravo Pizza in NYC went kosher, but some got confused and assumed all the Bravo locations in the City were kosher.
