Brooklyn has reason to celebrate withย KOMA Sushiย opening on Avenue M between East 16th and 17th Streets. In addition to serving traditional sushi fare available in your run-of-the-mill sushi spot, KOMA also offers omakase-style dining. Omakase, a Japanese word translated as โ€œI leave it up to you,โ€ speaks to the form of dining, where the diner leaves it up to the chef to curate what is one offer without the traditional ordering off of a menu.ย

In addition to the standard a la carte menu, the omakase option is currently available as follows:

  • an eight-course for $40
  • fifteen-course for $70
  • or a twenty-one-course for $100 per person

So far, the early reviews of KOMA are stellar, with some even saying that it is the best kosher sushi on offer in Brooklyn.

Have you been to KOMA? What are your thoughts on the experience?
