From Manhattan to Midwood: Mr. Broadway’s Big Brooklyn Debut
Update: Mr. Broadway in Brooklyn has officially opened.
Mr. Broadway, the well-known Manhattan kosher restaurant, is preparing to open its first Brooklyn location at 1776 Ocean Avenue, just off Avenue M. The space was previously occupied by Pescada, which relocated earlier this year to Coney Island Avenue near Avenue J.

The new storefront now features Mr. Broadway signage, confirming months of community speculation about the move. While no official opening date has been announced, visible progress suggests the restaurant could debut in the coming months.
Mr. Broadway has operated in Manhattan for decades, offering a mix of kosher deli staples and Middle Eastern dishes. The Brooklyn location is expected to carry a similar menu, although final details have not yet been released.
The move reflects ongoing changes in Midwood’s kosher dining scene. Ocean Avenue, especially the blocks around Avenue M, is a corridor lacking kosher restaurants. Pescada’s relocation created a rare vacancy on the strip, and Mr. Broadway’s arrival fills it with a brand familiar to many in the kosher-keeping community.
